Planning the new North Road Primary School

6.00.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 28th Sep 2007

Work is underway to plan the new North Road Primary School.

Both staff and pupils have been involved in creative projects to say what they want to see in their new school.

There have been some very imaginative ideas so far!

On the evening of October 18th there will be an exhibition for parents and residents of the ideas produced so far. This event will be widely advertised and parents will be invited through the school.

Your Lib Dem councillors are insisting that the local community are fully involved at all stages in the consultation process.

We are particularly keen that the new school is a building that the whole community can use and enjoy. It is also important that it should be as environmentally sustainable as possible.

Councillor Mike Barker has been appointed as a Governor of North Road Primary School. Mike said, "I am very excited at becoming a Governor of such a successful school. I'm looking forward to helping the pupils, teachers, parents and the local community create a wonderful new school."
