The pictures show some of the poorly maintained public areas on the Rise Carr estate. These are examples of untidy areas in the ward that are not maintained. Complaints about untidy back lanes are also on the rise again. The new Street Scene system has had plenty of time to settle in. Mike and Fred are concerned that it is not working well in our ward.

The dedication of the workforce and managers is not questioned. But the Street Scene team who look after North Road cover the area from Harrowgate Hill all the way into town, INCLUDING the town centre.

There is a feeling that the Town Centre gets priority and other parts of the town are neglected. Staff who are trained in horticulture are given other types of work to do and the quality of work suffers.

We have written expressing their concern to the senior management of Street Scene, asking to meet and discuss these issues. We will let you know the outcome. Please let us know of problems in your area.
