North Cemetery CCTV camera needs re-siting.

6.59.44pm GMT Sat 29th Dec 2007

North Road councillors Fred Lawton and Mike Barker have received a number of complaints about antisocial behaviour and some vandalism in North Cemetery.

Wardens and police have been told about this and they patrol the grounds. CCTV cameras should help in spotting the culprits but only if they are sited in suitable positions. Cameras are able to see a full circle around them. Unfortunately, the CCTV camera sited beside Thompson Street West, apart from being placed next to large trees, has its field of vision is restricted by half, unless it looks at houses!

It's an expensive business to move these cameras but Mike and Fred are asking that this one is re-sited; it's pretty useless where it is.
