With the elections out of the way, Fred Lawton and Mike Barker are back at work in North Road ward. Fred and Mike have been out litter-picking with Year 10 from North Road Primary School and the local Street Scene team. Some of the streets around North Road School were quite badly litter strewn and we need to make sure there is more frequent attention to this area from Street Scene.

On our litter pick with Year 10 pupils we were accompanied by their form teacher, the local Street Scene workers, Morvyn Sanderson the North Road Community Worker and a member of the North Road Community Partnership.

There has been a week of action in North Road Ward, with action on litter and graffiti, petty crime and vandalism.

We have also approached NTL, asking them to take action to repaint some of their green boxes in the ward.
